From poodle skirts to plaid flannels, our 5th graders traveled through time during the Annual Decades Day! 🕺🎶📼 Students explored each decade from the 1920s–1990s through food, games, music, technology, fashion, and hands-on activities. What a fun way to bring history to life!

CTE Parents and Guardians: Tomorrow, May 29th, 2026, is a half-day and the last day of the school year! Dismissal will begin at 10:25 a.m. We hope everyone has a safe and restful summer break!
Cherokee Trail students who earned over 100 Accelerated Reader points during the 2025-2026 school year were treated to a fun outing to celebrate their hard work and accomplishments! We are proud of these students and encourage all students to continue reading over Summer Break!
In honor of Memorial Day, there will be NO school for students on Monday (May 25).
We can't wait for field day!
Parents/Guardians,
Serving as principal of Cherokee Trail Elementary School has been a true honor and privilege. For the 2026–2027 school year, I will be moving into a new role as Director of the Abbeville County Career Center. While I am excited for this next chapter, I will always treasure the relationships and memories built with our students, families, and staff during my time at CTE.
I am pleased to share that Mrs. Ongela Nance will serve as principal for the 2026–2027 school year. I am confident she will continue leading Cherokee Trail Elementary with the same dedication, care, and commitment to excellence that our school community deserves.
