Students learning about braille

Second graders at Cherokee Trail have been learning about Helen Keller in class. As a special treat, Mrs. Padner visited to teach us about Braille. Students were given a mini lesson on Braille and were even able to feel Braille in books! Mrs. Padner talked about how a device called a Brailler can be used to “type” in Braille. A more modern way, however, is to use a computer and print it on a special printer called a Braille embosser. Students were then given cards with their names written in Braille! A huge thank you to Mrs. Padner for sharing your wealth of knowledge with our students at CTE!
