Over 400 K4-7th grade students at Cherokee Trail Elementary participated in our first annual Vocabulary Day parade as part of national Read Across America Day on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Students selected a variety of words such as canine, patriotism, blizzard, autotroph, and mysterious (to name a few of the students' selected words) and researched the meaning and how the word is used in the English language. Students were able to show the meaning of their unique words through creative costumes, hats, and signs as they paraded through the school halls and around the bus loop in front of their peers.
